Showjumping at SUMMERHOUSE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE in Summer Heatwave
June 26, 2018
Yesterday Toby and 4 of his team of horses competed in the British Showjumping at SUMMERHOUSE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE.
The temperatures soared to 29 degrees and so with 4 horses and no more than 7 other competitors between them Toby’s Team were kept very busy. New Toby Pigott Eventing team member Tash ensured that her horses were kept watered and cool under the fans on Toby’s PRB built lorry and immaculately presented for their round. A quick change over was needed to untack, cool and walk off each horse after their round whilst Toby was focused on warming up and competing the next horse; this smooth a transition needed 3 people and an understanding venue!!
LANCE A LITTLE, who has had a short break after his run at TATTERSALLS, was first to jump in the 1.15m and he was in high spirits but jumped a nice double clear round. ROYAL DIAMOND and FREESTYLE R were ever consistent with 2 nice double clears in the Foxhunter with FREESTYLE R just outside the placings in 3rd. Fourth and last to go was GOLDEN FOREVER, who feeling settled and relaxed after his TATTERSALLS run, stepped up to jump his first British Showjumping round at 1.30m for just 4 faults at the combination.
Today’s rounds have all the horses prepared for their next runs at BARBURY CASTLE INTERNATIONAL. As much as we are enjoying the heatwave, Toby and his team are now hoping for some rain to soften the ground before this next event!
